Functions and tasks

Federal Bailiffs’ Service is a federal executive authority and performs functions to ensure the established order of the activity of courts, enforcement of judicial decisions, decisions of other bodies and officials, as well as law enforcement duties and the control and supervision in the established field of activity.

The main tasks of the FBS of Russia are:

  • ensuring the established order of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the Supreme Court of Arbitration of the Russian Federation, the courts of general jurisdiction and courts of arbitration;
  • organization of enforcement of decisions of courts of general jurisdiction and courts of arbitration, as well as decisions of other bodies, under the Russian Federation legislation on enforcement proceedings;
  • implementation of the legislation on criminal proceedings in cases attributed by the criminal procedural legislation of the Russian Federation to the jurisdiction of the Federal Bailiffs’ Service;
  • management of the territorial bodies of the Federal Bailiffs’ Service of Russia.

The FBS of Russia is guided by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, federal constitutional laws, federal laws, acts of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation, international treaties of the Russian Federation and regulations the Russian Ministry of Justice.
